"aboutHtml": "
Jeremy Anderson is a cellist and educator based in Indianapolis, Indiana. He serves as a cello faculty member for the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra (MYO), the acclaimed youth orchestral program of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, where he guides beginning and advancing string students in building the technical foundation and musical sensitivity to thrive as orchestral and chamber musicians.

On Stage

Jeremy performs as a section cellist with the Indianapolis Philharmonic Orchestra, contributing to the vibrant classical music life of Indianapolis and central Indiana. His orchestral experience spans the full range of the symphonic canon—from Baroque to contemporary—and reflects a deep commitment to ensemble playing and musical community.

In addition to his orchestral work, Jeremy has performed in chamber settings throughout the Indianapolis area, bringing the intimacy and immediacy of small-ensemble music to concert halls, community stages, and educational programs alike. His playing is marked by a warm, singing tone and a lyrical approach shaped by years of immersion in the cello’s rich repertoire.

In the Studio

Jeremy’s teaching is rooted in the belief that every student has the capacity for genuine musical expression. His lessons emphasize healthy bow technique, resonant tone production, and a deep understanding of musical phrasing—taught through age-appropriate repertoire from the standard cello literature.

He works with students of all levels, from first-time players discovering the instrument to advanced students preparing for youth orchestra auditions, all-state competitions, and college-level study. As an MYO faculty member, he has developed particular expertise in guiding students toward ensemble readiness, helping them develop the listening skills, intonation habits, and rhythmic precision that orchestral playing demands.
",
